What is Jweel?
Everything is made to be easy. You design your piece of jewelry and we will make it real and have shipped right to your door! Select a tool, design you jewel, choose the material and order! To use our 3D tools and view objects in 3D, you need a WebGL compatible browser. If you don’t, the website will fallback to 2D view and some tools will be unavailable. You can manage your models from your dashboard. Jweel allows you to save, copy and edit your files. You can also decide to share your models with the community… or keep them private, as you wish!
Why are there different apps on Jweel?
Jweel apps have been made on 3 criteria:
- the category of jewelry (ring, bracelet, necklace…)
- the type of jewelry in each category (simple rings, textrings, freely sculpted rings…)
- the level of complexity. From easiest tools to our freestyle design app, discover all the power of 3D modeling!
And what about copyright on my designes?
You keep all rights on your designs. Although general terms and conditions underline that you grant us the all necessary rights to ensure we can run the service. When you share your designs on Jwee, you offer them to the community under Creative Commons licence, this action cannot be canceled.
My computer is slow when browsing apps pages, why?
Jweel gives you tools to manipulate 3D objects. Generating your jewels is an exhausting task, even for a computer! In general, your processor and amount of RAM are driving your computer performance on Jweel.
Here are some tips to improve your performance on our tools:
- Use the Google Chrome, browser, it is optimised for 3D apps
- Get out of the energy saving mode : this slows down your computer. If you are using a laptop, plug in the power cable
- Do not keep more than one tab opened on a 3D application like Jweel : each tab uses ressources and slows down your computer
Can I import 3D files from other softwares?
Not yet. Our apps use a special 3D format that does not work with classic formats. Our engineers are currently working on this and we do hope this feature will be available soon
What is 3D printing ?
3D printing or Additive manufacturing is the process of making a three-dimensional solid object of virtually any shape from a digital model. For more information about 3D printing, please refer to our blog article.
Why should I sign up for an account?
Joining the Jweel community gives you instant access to a lot more feature: manage your 3D files from your dashboard, send message to others, track your orders progress… You can also save your name/address and shipping information so you don’t have to fill them in each time you order. How to sell my designs on Jweel?
To sell your designs on Jweel, you need to open a shop. A shop is a public space in which you can showcase your creations.
How much will I get when my designs are sold?
Each time a Jweel user order a piece of jewelry, you will get the price you ask for your design. You are free to choose the right price for your work. It will be added to the usual manufacturing cost and you will get it entirely.
What is the difference between publishing an item and adding it to a shop?
On Jweel, the normal publishing process will lead to a publication under Creative Commons licence. That means you grant all users the right to adapt, copy and order your creation for free. On the contrary, adding an item to a shop does not mean you grant any rights to anyone. Your items in shop cannot be copied or modified. The user willing to have one of your in-shop design made must pay the price you setup for the right to do so, in addition to the production price.
Can I unpublish a design to place it in my shop?
No, not yet. Published items are available under Creative Commons licence, they may have been copied, modified, and even re-published on Jweel.
How is the price determined ?
On Jweel, you pay what you actually consume. The price is determined on several criteria:
- the size of your object
- the material
- designer price for use of the design if the item is presented in a shop
The size of your object determines the “bounding box”, which means the space occupied by your object in the 3D printer. The bigger it is, the longer it takes to make the object, and the more expensive it will be. The amount of material used influences the cost too. Designers keep all rights on their designs and can freely choose the price they ask for the actual use of their designs . Depending on designers and designs quality, prices can vary from a few cents to a hundred euros or more.
Where can I track the progress of my order ?
You can track the progress of your order by logging in and going to 'Orders' in your profile. Then, when your order is shipped, the UPS tracking number will be shown on this page. You will also receive the UPS tracking number by email.
What payment options are available ?
It is possible to pay with all major credit cards or PayPal. During checkout, you will have the option to pay by credit card or through PayPal.
